Gabriella is a 4th Year Political Science major with minors in International Studies and History at the University of California, Irvine. She is from Fontana, California, a Tongva Tribal Member, and a sister of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority. She currently works as a Resident Advisor for the Campuswide Honors Collegium Houses in Arroyo Vista and has been a Campuswide Honors student herself since 2017. Gabriella will be graduating with the Class of 2021. She is very excited and grateful for the opportunity to perform the land acknowledgment at this year’s conference!

Tim Trevan

Welcome Speaker

Tim Trevan has worked in the university housing field for over 30 years and held positions on five campuses throughout Southern California.  He currently serves as Executive Director of Student Housing at the University of California, Irvine, where his relationships and partnerships with others in the Anteater community keep him enthused about the impact living on campus can have on residents’ success in college and motivated to provide a First in Class experience for UCI students.  Tim has also been heavily involved in a number of university housing and student affairs professional development organizations, including serving as President of the Western Association of College and University Housing Officers.

Sadia Saifuddin

Keynote Speaker

Sadia Saifuddin is the co-founder of The Success Company and helps students and families navigate their way through the college admissions process. Sadia is a Product Manager on the Education Cloud team at Salesforce.org, where she builds Recruiting and Admissions technology solutions. Prior to Salesforce, Sadia worked on the Private Assets team at the UC Investments Office, leading investments totaling over $1.6 billion. Sadia graduated from UC Berkeley, where she served as an ASUC Senator and then was appointed as the UC Student Regent. As a Regent, Sadia championed the UC Basic Needs movement by founding the UC Berkeley Food Pantry and then helping scale basic needs efforts across the UC system.

Dr. Rameen Talesh

Closing Speaker

Dr. Rameen Talesh is the Assistant Vice Chancellor Student Life & Leadership and Dean of Students at the University of California Irvine. Throughout his career, Rameen has overseen various programs and services including undergraduate housing, RHA, campus activities, clubs & organizations and cross-cultural services. His 30+ years of professional experience in student affairs administration has covered both public and private institutions of various sizes including University of California Riverside, California State University Northridge, and Occidental College.

 

Rameen received his Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Southern California where he teaches graduate courses in the Rossier School of Education as an adjunct Associate Professor. He earned his Masters in Public Administration from California State University Northridge, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California Irvine.

 

Rameen believes that the experiences in the classroom are enhanced by the experiences outside the classroom. At UCI, he is affectionately known as the “Fistbump Dean”.  He still enjoys playing intramural basketball with students, doing yoga and has been known to sing from time to time.
